Attorney J. G. Bergdoll is an experienced trial attorney in the areas of criminal law, DUI, family law, custody, civil rights, civil claims, property disputes and unemployment compensation. Attorney Bergdoll has negotiated and litigated divorce, custody and support claims for parents and ex-spouses. As a true general practitioner he has a broad range of skills and experience in dealing with simple to very complex legal issues.

Born and raised in Wellsville Pennsylvania, Attorney Bergdoll graduated from Northern High School in Dillsburg.

Attorney Bergdoll has A Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania.

While working at his father's law office and interning at MidPenn Legal Services he attended Penn State University's Dickinson School of Law. He graduated from Dickinson in 2005. At Dickinson Attorney Bergdoll received the Public Interest Law Fund Award for Public Service Award and was the recipient of Environmental Law Scholarship for achievement in Environmental Law.

Attorney Bergdoll Passed the Bar Exam in 2005 and is licensed to practice in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.

Attorney Bergdoll has a keen interest in Civil Rights law and has served in a leadership role in the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Civil and Equal Rights Committee since 2010 and as Chair of the Committee from 2012-2013 and has been a planner and faculty speaker on a number of CLE on civil Rights issues, including being Course Planner of the “Whose Constitution is it anyway: A Primer on the U.S. and Pennsylvania Constitutions”. He continues to serve on several sub-committees and has planned courses with a focus on civil rights and the Constitutions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States Constitution. Attorney Bergdoll is also current Chair of the YCBA Civil Rights Committee.

His background in psychology and mental health law supports his everyday practice in assisting individuals with mental health diagnoses. In that capacity he is court appointed counsel for individuals facing involuntary commitment and treatment under the Mental Health Procedures Act.

Attorney Bergdoll is president of the Wellsville Area Historical society and is regularly involved in historical and environmental preservation projects and cases. His passion for history and the environment comes from a love for nature, outdoor activities and the heritage of south central Pennsylvania and York County.
